Amar became part of the Refresh Dental team in 2021. After graduating from the University of Birmingham, he began his career in Oxford, spending seven years working there as an associate.
He developed a particular passion for restorative dentistry, which led him to complete an MClinDent in Endodontology at the renowned UCL Eastman Dental Institute, achieving a merit. He later succeeded in both the England and Edinburgh endodontic membership examinations and is now recognised as a specialist.
Amar is also interested in how mental visualisation and cognitive behaviour can support learning and performance. He has delivered talks for Health Education England at the Educational Supervisors Conference and has been involved in assessing postgraduate clinicians at the Eastman Dental Institute.
Clinically, he enjoys working on complex diagnostic challenges, trauma-related cases, and treating sclerosed or curved root canals. Away from dentistry, Amar spends his time swimming and cycling and has taken part in several Ironman and sprint-distance triathlons.
