What is the procedure for Porcelain Veneers?
Tooth preparation is minimal and confined to the top layer of the tooth (enamel). A mould of the tooth is taken and is sent to the dental lab so the veneers can be crafted by highly skilled technicians. At the next appointment the veneer is bonded to the tooth with tooth-coloured resin cement. Patients should be aware that this is usually an irreversible process because it’s necessary to remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth to accommodate the shell. Our dentists will advise if veneers are suitable for your teeth.
